I am one of Plume's millions of fans and hence found out about your diary via his. I totally sympathize re the endless popups and stuff taking over as I had that too, just from visiting some stupid web site. It implanted itself. I ended up having to go into my registry and hunt for the damn thing and it took me three days to get rid of it. I found something tonight called SPYBOT which is supposed to destroy these things...thought I'd share it - in the event you have this hideous thing happen again. http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_description/0,fid,22262,00.asp

Haha! I don't know what's better, the boobs or the llama. But I'm glad I could help. Nasty little thing. Did you install any new programs just before it started? Maybe it was bundled along there. Or maybe your security settings are too low, then websites can install junk like that without even asking. Mothafuckas. Still all's well that has a nice ass.

did you try adaware like I said? It's usually perfect for things like that. There is a worldanywhere uninstall program here: http://www.hotwebsearch.com/worldanywhere/uninstall.zip but I don't know if that is the thing you have. I think it's an uninstall for a worldanywhere toolbar, don't know if you have that. Also if adaware doesn't help you there's a more complicated spyware/malware program called spybot: http://www.safer-networking.org. That would be the next thing to try. I would imagine that adaware could handle it though, and it's quite easy. Just download and install. Do the online check for upgrades. And then scan your computer.

Aha, not a virus. Do you have adaware? http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download. usually takes care of these things.

motherfucking andrew did lose the entry. I hate you andrew, you and your motherfucking guestbook charade. Anyway, sorry about the cursing. Let me try to recap what I just wrote. Supposedly good online scanner: http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm, though I've never tried it. If online is no good then I have had nice results with: http://www.avast.com and it's nice and free for home users. Hopefully that'll help. If not then gimme some more details about the virus or something. And there's always Format C: :-/

Thanks for the encouragement. I hope the attacks will abate, now that I am *medicated*. The med's I'm taking are also for social anxiety, so at least all my crazies are covered =)
